McKinney, Texas — The Mavericks announced July 20 that Jett Howard has signed a two-way contract, while Tyler Smith was placed on waivers.
The 22-year-old guard-forward came to Dallas after three Orlando seasons. He entered the NBA as the Magic's No. 11 overall choice in 2023.
Howard made 55 appearances in 2025-26 and averaged 5.5 points, according to the Mavericks. The club did not release contract terms.
Hoops Rumors reported the arrangement runs through the 2026-27 season after Dallas cleared a two-way roster position.
