Austin FC kept LAFC off the board for 52 minutes Wednesday night before the hosts scored three times in 20 minutes for a 3-1 win at BMO Stadium.
Denis Bouanga scored in the 52nd minute from close range, assisted by Son Heung-Min. Austin equalized in the 66th minute when Brandon Vázquez scored from outside the box off a pass from Myrto Uzuni, a 63rd-minute substitute.
LAFC went back ahead in the 67th minute on Bouanga's second goal, again assisted by Son. Son scored in the 72nd minute, set up by Jacob Shaffelburg, to make it 3-1.
LAFC finished with 28 shots, 11 on target. Austin had 14 shots and four on target while holding 60 percent of possession. Austin goalkeeper Brad Stuver made eight saves; LAFC's Hugo Lloris made three.
