Collin College will honor J. Robert "Bob" Collins, one of its founding trustees and now a trustee emeritus, by naming a building at its Farmersville Campus for him. The ceremony will run from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the campus, 501 S. Collin Parkway.

The building will be named Dr. J. Robert Collins Hall. Collins was among the original trustees who helped found the college, and college officials credit his vision, leadership and support with shaping its development from the beginning.

The college described Collins as a longtime supporter of its students and the communities it serves. The naming recognizes his decades of service. Although he no longer serves on the board, Collins has stayed connected to the college as a trustee emeritus.

The ceremony is open to the public. Those who plan to attend are asked to RSVP to foundation@collin.edu.
