Taylor Ward delivered the game’s defining blow in the eighth inning, launching a 399-foot home run to left center that scored Rutschman and gave Baltimore a 3-2 lead. Pitching Performances

He was supported by a relief corps that held Houston scoreless over the final five innings. Anthony Nunez pitched two hitless innings, while Grant Wolfram and Cam Sanders combined for less than one inning of work.
Sanders earned the win, improving his record to 1-0. Andrew Kittredge recorded his fifth save, and Tyler Wells secured the save, his third of the season.
For Houston, Peter Lambert earned the start, working six innings and allowing one earned run on three hits while striking out ten batters. Steven Okert pitched a perfect inning with two strikeouts. Bryan King took the loss, giving up two earned runs in one inning to drop his record to 2-3. Enyel De Los Santos closed out the game, pitching a scoreless inning.
