McKinney residents can comment Oct. 5 on a request to annex land west of County Road 161 and give it planned-development zoning generally allowing residential uses.

The public hearing is listed on the City Council agenda for Monday, Oct. 5, 2026. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers, 401 E. Virginia St.

The property is about 1,350 feet north of County Road 124. The agenda identifies annexation case 26-0008A and zoning case 26-0023Z; the zoning request also seeks changes to development standards.

Residents wishing to speak on this item will be recognized when the public hearing opens, according to the agenda. The city also lists a live meeting stream.

The agenda schedules consideration of the petition and accompanying ordinances. It does not establish that annexation or zoning has been approved.
