Registration is open for the second McKinney Historic Half, which returns Saturday, April 3, 2027.
The course starts at McKinney City Hall and finishes at TUPPS Brewery, which hosts the event. Sign-ups opened Aug. 1.
The race is more than seven months out, so the useful news today is not the event itself but what it costs and what you have to do before then.
Price goes up in tiers
Entry is sold in three price tiers that rise as the race fills. Registering in the first tier rather than the last saves $40 on the half marathon.
- Half marathon. $99, then $119, then $139.
- 5K, adult. $49, then $54, then $59.
- 5K, youth 12 and under. $10 at every tier.
- Kid's 100-meter dash. $5 at every tier, with a paid adult entry.
Organizers have not published the dates the price moves between tiers, saying only that early registration secures the current price.
One other deadline is fixed: register by Feb. 28 to get a personalized race bib.
Three races, three start times
The half marathon starts at 7 a.m., the 5K at 7:15 a.m., and the children's 100-meter dash at 11 a.m. Half marathon entrants must be 16 or older.
The Dallas Running Club is providing pace teams for the half, with leaders running even splits at ten finishing times from 1:30 through 3:00. Runners fall in with the group holding their goal time.
Half marathon finishers get a long-sleeve performance shirt and all finishers get a medallion. Entry includes the post-race party at TUPPS, where the complimentary finisher beer is for participants 21 and over.
