A 57-year-old man from Annetta, Texas, has been charged with several drug-related offenses following an investigation by the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force. Charles Dewayne Ford, who is a convicted felon, was arrested on July 2, 2026, after law enforcement responded to a complaint of drug trafficking at his residence located on Anneta Road.

According to a uniform citation, officers discovered a marijuana grow operation in Ford's closet, along with packaged methamphetamine believed to be intended for resale and approximately $2,000 in cash. It was reported that Ford attempted to conceal the marijuana by placing it in a gallon Ziploc bag and hiding it beneath other items in his closet.

In addition to the marijuana and methamphetamine, authorities found a notebook containing evidence related to suspected narcotics trafficking and marijuana cultivation. Ford was subsequently taken into custody and booked at the Grayson County Detention Center.

He faces multiple charges, including first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, cultivating marijuana (five plants or more), possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence. Ford had previously been convicted in September 2022 in Edmonson County for trafficking methamphetamine and is currently on probation until 2030.

The investigation into Ford's activities is ongoing, and further details have not yet been released.
