The University of North Texas men's basketball team is preparing to take part in the Snake River Invitational, a four-team tournament scheduled to occur at the Mountain America Center in Idaho Falls from November 27 to 29. Denison is about 39 miles north of McKinney.
Head coach Daniyal Robinson expressed excitement about the tournament, emphasizing its alignment with the team's scheduling objectives. He noted that their opponents—Boise State, North Dakota State, and Drake—have all seen action in the NCAA Tournament recently, which will provide a considerable challenge. Robinson also mentioned that competing in a new environment will replicate a postseason atmosphere, which is advantageous for the team.
North Texas will begin the tournament against North Dakota State on November 27, marking the first-ever matchup between the two teams. The Mean Green will then take on Boise State on November 28, continuing a rivalry that has seen ten previous encounters. Finally, on November 29, they will face Drake, which will be their 37th meeting overall. Game times will be confirmed later.
