The WNBA All-Star Game will feature three players from the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with Olivia Miles, Paige Bueckers, and Jessica Shepard earning starting positions. This announcement was made on Thursday, highlighting Miles as the only rookie among the ten starters.

Miles, a former standout at TCU, has had an impressive rookie season with the Minnesota Lynx, leading the team to the best record in the league at 15-4. Notably, she has achieved this success without the team's star player, Napheesa Collier, who is currently sidelined due to injury. Throughout the season, Miles has averaged 18.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 5.7 assists.

Her performance at TCU included guiding the Horned Frogs to their second consecutive Elite Eight appearance.

Bueckers, who was named the Rookie of the Year last season, has continued to excel in her second year. She is currently averaging 19.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.9 assists, contributing to the Wings' 11-8 record, which already surpasses their total wins from the previous season.

Bueckers was the top vote-getter among guards, alongside Miles, who ranked fifth with fans but secured the top spot with media votes and third with player votes.

Shepard, who has been a significant addition to the Wings this offseason, is also among the frontcourt starters. She is averaging a career-high 14.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 5.4 assists this season.

The All-Star Game is scheduled to take place on July 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the United Center in Chicago. The selection process involved fan voting accounting for 50% of the total, with media and players sharing the remaining half. Other guards selected include Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell from the Indiana Fever.

This year's All-Star Game showcases the talent emerging from the DFW area, particularly through the contributions of these players, who have made significant impacts in their respective teams this season.
