Fall Activities Begin in September
The City of McKinney has published its comprehensive calendar of fall and winter activities and events for residents. The schedule covers programming from September through December 2026, offering options for all ages.
Events begin in September with the Mexican Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 12, from 12 to 3 p.m. at TUPPS Brewery, located at 402 E. Louisiana St. This event is free and open to all ages. Following this, McKinney Oktoberfest runs from Friday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 27 in Downtown McKinney.
Admission is free, though VIP packages and contest entries are available for purchase.
October Programming Includes Trick-or-Treat Events
October features numerous family-oriented activities. The Trick-or-Treat March takes place on Friday, Oct. 16, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Senior Recreation Center for grade school ages. A free Trick-or-Treat Trail is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 3 to 6 p.m. at Bonnie Wenk Park.
Other October events include Pumpkin Dunk on Oct. 24 at the Apex Centre with timed entries and a special needs hour at 3 p.m., costing $12 for members and $16 for non-members. The Halloween Haunt occurs on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the John & Judy Gay Library; registration is required. AR Garland Workshops on Boho Pumpkins and Halloween Cookies are also scheduled with associated costs.
November and December Schedule
November events include a Veterans Day Ceremony on Nov. 7 at Corporal RD Foster Veterans Memorial Park and a Holiday Craft Fair on Nov. 14 at the Senior Recreation Center. The Thanksgiving Luncheon is set for Nov. 18 at the Senior Recreation Center for ages 50 and up, with costs of $25 for members and $35 for non-members.
The "Home for the Holidays: A McKinney Christmas" event runs from Friday, Nov. 27 through Sunday, Nov. 29 in Downtown McKinney. December programming includes Breakfast with Santa on Dec. 5 at Old Settler's Recreation Center and a Gingerbread House craft workshop on Dec. 12.
