McKinney National Airport (DTX) will welcome its first commercial airline service when Avelo Airlines launches nonstop flights on November 11, 2026. The new service coincides with the opening of DTX’s newly constructed passenger terminal and its designation as a commercial service airport. Residents can find more information about the airport at FlyDTX.com and book tickets at AveloAir.com.

Avelo Airlines will operate flights to Las Vegas, Nevada, and four Florida destinations: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa. The carrier will fly from DTX on Wednesdays through Mondays. The inaugural flights are scheduled to begin on November 11, allowing travelers to plan trips over the Veterans Day holiday.

City of McKinney Mayor Bill Cox welcomed the announcement. He stated that the new service reflects the demand for convenient air travel closer to home and reinforces McKinney’s position as a destination for residents, businesses, and investment. Cox thanked Avelo Airlines for their confidence in the regional market.

Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy described the airline as the anchor tenant at DTX. He noted that the company will base two aircraft at the airport, reflecting a long-term commitment to the region. Levy added that this investment will drive meaningful job creation and economic development, bringing well over 100 new jobs to the area.

The flight schedule includes four-times weekly service to Las Vegas starting November 12, with flights operating on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Service to Fort Lauderdale begins November 19, with five-times weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Flights to Fort Myers begin Wednesday, November 11, with twice-weekly service.

Flight durations range from approximately two hours and 30 minutes to over three hours depending on the destination and direction of travel.
