Avelo Airlines Launches Nonstop Service from McKinney Airport in November

McKINNEY, Texas — Avelo Airlines has announced its first nonstop destinations from McKinney National Airport (DTX), with inaugural flights beginning November 11, 2026. This launch coincides with the opening of DTX’s newly constructed passenger terminal and its designation as a commercial service airport.

The carrier will operate flights to Las Vegas, Nevada, and four Florida cities: Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, and Tampa. The initial flights are scheduled to begin on November 11, allowing travelers to plan a multi-day getaway over the Veterans Day holiday.

Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy stated the airline is excited to be the anchor tenant at DTX. He noted that the carrier will base two aircraft at the airport, reflecting a long-term commitment to the region. Levy added that this investment will drive meaningful job creation and economic development, bringing well over 100 new jobs to the area.

The City of McKinney Mayor Bill Cox welcomed the new service. He said, "As growth continues to reshape North Texas, McKinney is playing an increasingly important role in the region’s future. This new service reflects the demand for convenient air travel closer to home and reinforces McKinney’s position as a destination for residents, businesses, and investment."

Flight schedules vary by destination. Service to Las Vegas begins Thursday, November 12, with four-times weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Flights to Fort Lauderdale begin Thursday, November 19, with five-times weekly service on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Service to Fort Myers begins Wednesday, November 11.
