McKinney Postpones Mosquito Spraying to Aug. 11-12

The City of McKinney has postponed mosquito spraying originally scheduled for Aug. 6 and 7. Spraying will now occur on Tuesday, Aug. 11, and Wednesday, Aug. 12, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., weather permitting.

Affected Areas

The City is set to spray two areas to control mosquitoes after mosquito pools tested positive for West Nile Virus. The locations and order of spraying remain unchanged from the original plan.

On Tuesday, Aug. 11, spraying will cover a one-mile radius around 10302 JFK Boulevard. On Wednesday, Aug. 12, the spray area will be a one-mile radius around 2800 Barnsley.

Resident Instructions

Signs will be posted at major intersections to notify residents of spraying activity. Information and maps of the spray areas are available on the City's website at McKinneyTexas.org/MosquitoControl.

Residents in the spray areas are advised to stay indoors and bring their pets inside during the spray period. Residents who do not want spraying near their homes should contact the City of McKinney Health Compliance office at 972-547-7447.
