The City of McKinney has been recognized as a top employer in the United States. The city was named to the Top Workplaces USA list by USA TODAY, securing the No. 72 position among organizations with between 1,000 and 2,499 employees. According to the announcement, only two other government agencies were recognized in this specific category.
The national recognition followed a regional award. In November of last year, The Dallas Morning News named the City of McKinney a Top Workplace in the Dallas-Fort Worth region. The city was the only municipality to earn that distinction. This regional honor automatically qualified the organization for consideration for the national list.
City Manager Paul Grimes commented on the achievement, stating that being named one of the best places to work in the nation is a great honor. He noted that the ranking reflects the city's commitment to creating a healthy, winning culture where everyone is respected, trusted, and empowered to make decisions.
