Erwin Park in McKinney will close on Aug. 10 to begin a major renovation project. The city announced that the closure is necessary to allow construction to proceed safely and efficiently. The project is expected to be completed in fall 2027, barring unforeseen construction delays.
The renovation aims to transform the park by adding new amenities, improving accessibility, and upgrading existing facilities. Upon completion, visitors will have access to an overlook tower, new restrooms, and new pavilions. The park will also feature updated playground equipment and ADA accessibility improvements.
