The McKinney Public Library System is hosting a series of Small Business Masterclasses for adults. The events are presented by SCORE and focus on advice for starting and growing businesses, as well as how owners can improve their communities.
Event Details
The first session in the series is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026. Subsequent dates include Tuesday, October 6, 2026, and Tuesday, November 10, 2026. All sessions run from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Although the Roy & Helen Hall Memorial library is currently closed for renovations, holds and returns are available at the John & Judy Gay Library and McKinney City Hall. The masterclass series takes place at the John and Judy Gay Library.
Program Content
The agenda for each session includes a welcome, expectations overview, introduction, discussion, question and answer period, and program goals. The initial theme is "How to Start a Business in Texas."
SCORE states its mission is to foster vibrant small business communities through mentoring and education. The organization aims to provide support to help individuals thrive as small business owners.
Registration Information
Attendance is limited to 10 seats per session. Registration is required via the library’s Libcal system. Participants must select a ticket quantity based on the number of attendees. Upon registration, an email containing the online event URL will be sent to confirm attendance.
By attending, participants consent to their voice, name, and likeness being used in promotional materials without compensation. They also release the City of McKinney assignees and licensees from liability. Individuals who do not wish to be subject to these terms should not attend.
