The McKinney Public Library System is hosting a Cultural Storytime program designed for children ages 3 to 5. The event will take place at the John and Judy Gay Library on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
The Roy & Helen Hall Memorial library is currently closed for renovations. During this time, holds and returns are available at the John and Judy Gay Library and McKinney City Hall. The Cultural Storytime program is held at the John and Judy Gay Library.
The program aims to enhance and encourage literacy while presenting diverse perspectives and content. It also seeks to foster community involvement and relationship building. Participants will engage in songs, stories, trivia, dancing, and bubbles. A craft activity is also included in the schedule.
The theme for the July 6 session is Independence Day. Caregivers must remain with their children for the duration of the program. The event is designed to support a child's literacy skills as they explore the world through stories and rhymes.
