McKinney Public Library Hosts Family Storytime at Old Settler's

The McKinney Public Library System is hosting Family Storytime sessions for all ages at the Old Settler's Recreation Center. These events are scheduled for Saturdays in August 2026, specifically on August 8, 15, 22, and 29.

Each session runs from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. The program is designed to enhance literacy, foster community involvement, and encourage the use of library collections. Activities include a welcome song, mystery box stories, songs, choice activities, and a goodbye song with bubbles.

Because the Roy & Helen Hall Memorial Library is currently closed for renovations, holds and returns are available at the John & Judy Gay Library and McKinney City Hall. The storytime events serve as an alternative engagement opportunity during this period.

Registration is required to attend. There are 36 seats available per session. Participants must select a ticket quantity based on the number of attendees, ranging from one to ten people. An online event URL will be sent via email upon confirmation of registration.

By attending, participants consent to their voice, name, and likeness being used in promotional materials without compensation. They also release the City of McKinney assignees and licensees from any liability. Attendees are advised not to participate if they do not wish to be subject to these terms.
