McKinney Library Offers Genealogy Office Hours in July and August

The McKinney Public Library System is offering genealogy office hours for adults at the John and Judy Gay Library. These sessions provide individualized support for genealogy needs through partners at the North Collin County Genealogical Society.

The Roy and Helen Hall Memorial Library is currently closed for renovations. During this time, holds and returns are available at the John and Judy Gay Library and McKinney City Hall.

The first genealogy office hour is scheduled for Sunday, July 5, 2026. The second session will take place on Sunday, August 2, 2026. Both events run from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. The service is open to adults who wish to receive help with genealogy questions.

Attendance requires registration. There are 49 seats available for each session. Participants must select the number of people attending, ranging from one to ten. Registration is conducted online, and the event URL will be sent via email upon confirmation.

Residents can register by visiting the library system website. The registration form requires the full name and email address of the attendee. By attending the event, participants consent to their voice, name, and likeness being used in promotional materials without compensation. They also release the City of McKinney assignees and licensees from any liability.
