The McKinney Police Department will host its next UNIDOS meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 23, at the Old Settler's Recreation Center, located at 1201 E. Louisiana St. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
UNIDOS is a Hispanic community outreach program designed to provide assistance to Spanish speakers in McKinney. The program is hosted by the McKinney Police Department with support from the City of McKinney and surrounding law enforcement agencies. Meetings are held every quarter and are conducted entirely in Spanish. The program presents information and provides help in areas of importance to the Hispanic community.
The guest speaker for the upcoming meeting will be from the Mexican Consulate. The session is titled "Your Voice, Your Questions: A Conversation with the Mexican Consulate." The announcement invites Spanish-speaking residents to attend, describing the program as a resource for those who speak Spanish in the area.
