McKinney residents have until Oct. 31 to turn visits around town into entries for airline-ticket vouchers, golf tickets and city merchandise through the city's Planning Passport.

The Community Planning Month activity began Oct. 8. Participants use the Visit McKinney app, listed as “McKinney TX,” to check in at designated stops. The city's event guide groups the destinations into Parks, Planned Development, Downtown and Municipal passes.

The official contest rules set the practical limits: participants must be at least 18, no purchase is required, and app entries close at 11:59 p.m. Oct. 31. City employees and their family members are ineligible for the drawing.

Each of the 20 location check-ins earns one stamp and one entry. Completing a pass adds five bonus stamps; completing all locations adds another 20, for a maximum of 60 entries.

Up to two first-prize winners will each receive an Avelo round-trip ticket voucher and city gear. Up to two second-prize winners will receive a ticket for a specific round of the 2027 CJ Cup Byron Nelson plus gear. Up to five third-prize winners receive city gear.

Prizes are drawn randomly, with one prize per person. Winners are responsible for applicable taxes and must provide a completed W-9 to the city to claim a prize.
