Artists, businesses and nonprofit groups planning a public arts project in McKinney can apply for the city's 2026–27 Project Outreach grants.

The application period opened Oct. 1 and runs through Feb. 28, 2027, according to the city's Arts Commission grants page. Applicant presentations are scheduled for March 18.

The program supports a single city-sponsored project that benefits McKinney's arts community. Awards can reach $10,000, while first-time applicants are limited to $3,000. Each request requires an equal funding match.

The city's guidelines require an arts or cultural mission and projects that serve McKinney residents or visitors and are accessible to the public. An organization may apply for only one Arts Commission grant in a fiscal year.

The commission evaluates applications and makes funding recommendations to the City Council for final approval.

The application link and the 2026–27 guidelines are posted on the city's Arts Commission grants page.
