The Houston Texans are in the final stages of shaping their 53-man roster as the NFL's deadline approaches. By 5 p.m. CT on Sunday, the team must reduce its roster from 90 players, having already made 10 cuts, leaving them with 80 players just hours before the deadline.

As the Texans evaluate their roster, several players are considered to be on the bubble, with their futures uncertain. Among these are running back Noah Whittington, who has shown promise during training camp but faces competition as the running back room returns to health with Jawhar Jordan and British Brooks recovering from injuries.

Wide receiver Justin Watson, a veteran signing from 2025, is also in a precarious position after spending last season recovering from an Achilles injury. His chances of making the roster have been complicated by the depth of the current receiving corps, especially following Jayden Higgins' injury.

Another wide receiver, Jared Wayne, has stood out in training camp and may have improved his chances of making the roster due to Higgins' absence. However, he still faces stiff competition from other receivers like Lewis Bond, Sterling Shepard, and Zay Jones.

Tight end Brevin Jordan is attempting to return to form after suffering from consecutive knee injuries, but lingering issues may hinder his chances of securing a spot on the roster. His previous performance in offseason activities may work in his favor.

On the offensive line, Jake Andrews, who started as center last season, may not make the cut due to increased competition from rookie Keylan Rutledge and free agent Evan Brown, both of whom have impressed during camp.

Defensive tackle Naquan Jones has had a strong camp but must navigate a crowded defensive interior to secure his position on the final roster. The Texans' decisions regarding these players will be finalized shortly as the deadline approaches.

Further details about the final roster decisions are not yet clear.
