Tayven Jackson has been appointed as the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green in their upcoming season opener against Indiana University on September 5, 2026. Jackson, who has a history with the Hoosiers, has experienced a diverse college football journey.
Previously, he played at Tennessee in 2022 with limited opportunities and later participated in 13 games for Indiana during the 2023-24 season, where he achieved a completion percentage of 61.2% and recorded six touchdowns alongside six interceptions.
In 2025, he transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he successfully completed 63.5% of his attempts, throwing for 2,151 yards, ten touchdowns, and eight interceptions, contributing to UCF's 5-7 season.
Before entering college football, Jackson excelled at Center Grove High School, amassing 4,813 passing yards and 47 touchdowns between 2018 and 2021, leading his team to an undefeated championship in Class 6A. Tayven Jackson is also the brother of Trayce Jackson-Davis, a notable basketball player who was named Indiana Mr. Basketball in 2019 and is currently in his fourth season with the Toronto Raptors.
