Trevon Diggs, a former cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, has signed a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter. This marks the second cornerback signing for the Seahawks within a week, as they also recently acquired Terrion Arnold, who is facing serious legal issues.
At just 27 years old, Diggs has a notable career record, including 20 interceptions and 63 passes defensed. He is expected to compete for a position in the Seahawks' secondary, which has been dealing with injuries. NFL insider Jordan Schultz confirmed the signing, noting Diggs' potential impact on the team.
Diggs previously signed a five-year contract extension worth $97 million with the Cowboys in July 2023. However, his performance declined, and he participated in only 22 of 51 possible games over the next three seasons. Following his release from the Cowboys, he was claimed off waivers by the Green Bay Packers on December 31, just a day after being let go.
His time with the Cowboys ended after a series of incidents, including an unusual at-home accident that resulted in him missing eight games in 2025. Diggs claimed that a television fell on him while he was attempting to mount it, a story that received skepticism.
The final decision to waive him came after he requested to remain in the D.C. area with family after a Christmas Day game, which the Cowboys denied.
