Baylor has offered Bear Acy, a five-star recruit for the 2029 class who is ranked seventh nationally. Acy is the son of former Baylor forward Quincy Acy, but he has not yet indicated whether he will accept the offer.
Quincy Acy played for Baylor from 2008 through 2012 and earned a place on the All-Big 12 Defensive Team during the 2011-12 season. His play was marked by rebounding, scoring near the basket and defensive production, including blocked shots.
Bear Acy is listed at 6 feet, 7 inches and is described as having the size and athletic ability to contribute on both ends of the court. The source says his length could help him disrupt passing lanes, deflect passes and block shots, while also allowing him to attack the basket.
Baylor coach Scott Drew coached Quincy Acy during all four of his seasons with the Bears. Drew became Baylor's coach in 2003 after previously working as an assistant under his father, Hall of Fame coach Homer Drew, at Valparaiso. If Bear Acy eventually joins Baylor, Drew would have coached two generations of the Acy family.
