The Dallas Cowboys have agreed to contract extensions with receiver Ryan Flournoy and tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford, committing as much as $24 million combined to two players who have not yet established themselves as regular stars.
Flournoy received a one-year extension valued at up to $6 million, keeping him with the Cowboys through the 2027 season. He is coming off a 2025 season in which he recorded 40 receptions for 475 yards and four touchdowns. The source said he is expected to take on a larger role as the team’s third receiver.
Flournoy’s size, athleticism and ability to line up at each receiver position were cited as factors in the decision. The extension also provides continuity among the team’s top receivers if George Pickens departs after the current season.
Spann-Ford agreed to a three-year deal worth up to $18 million, including $12.075 million guaranteed. The undrafted player from 2024 is now under contract through 2029 and was competing with Luke Schoonmaker for playing time behind Jake Ferguson last season.
The agreements differ from several earlier Cowboys extensions cited in the report, which came after players had already produced breakout seasons. Previous deals for Terence Steele, Jaylon Smith, Dak Prescott, Trevon Diggs and DaRon Bland followed more established success.
