Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins could return when the team faces the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, although he has been ruled out for the Texans’ Week 3 game. ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported that Collins has a reasonable possibility of playing against Dallas, citing a source.
Collins has appeared in one game this season, Houston’s Week 1 loss to Buffalo. He recorded seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown in that game.
Dallas also has injury concerns in its secondary. Cornerback Cobie Durant and safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke are dealing with injuries, and the three players will not all participate in Dallas’ Week 3 matchup with Baltimore in Brazil. Their availability for the later game against Houston has not been determined.
The Cowboys entered Week 3 ranked 17th in pass defense, allowing 218 yards per game. Dallas has been using DaRon Bland and Shavon Revel at cornerback, with Caleb Downs also contributing in the secondary.
C.J. Stroud leads the Texans at quarterback. Houston reached the playoffs last season before losing to the New England Patriots. The source also mentioned a possible Dallas trade for Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr., but no completed deal was reported.
