The Dallas Cowboys will be without four defensive players when they meet the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil during Week 3 of the NFL season. Cornerback Cobie Durant, safeties Malik Hooker and P.J. Locke, and linebacker DeMarvion Overshown have all been ruled out.
The four players were absent from Dallas' practices on Wednesday and Thursday and will not travel to Rio de Janeiro for the matchup. The game is scheduled for Sunday at Maracanã Stadium, with kickoff set for 3:25 p.m. Central time. Dallas is designated as the home team.
Durant started Dallas' first two games after joining the Cowboys this offseason following four seasons with the Rams. He played 87 defensive snaps before sustaining a hamstring injury in the team's victory over Washington. He had previously been expected to miss multiple weeks.
Hooker is unavailable because of a fractured forearm suffered during the season opener against the New York Giants. He started that game but left after playing 12 snaps. Locke, who filled in for Hooker, injured the plantar fascia in his foot against Washington after taking part in 31 defensive snaps in Week 2.
Overshown will miss his second straight game because of a hamstring strain from the opener against the Giants. He started that contest and made seven tackles before leaving. Jaishawn Barham is expected to continue in an expanded role at linebacker, while second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is expected to see more action with Durant unavailable.
