Dalton Schultz, a tight end for the Houston Texans, did not play in any of the team's three preseason games. Alongside Schultz, offensive starters including wide receiver Nico Collins and running back David Montgomery also sat out during the preseason. Quarterback C.J. Stroud had limited playing time in a game against the Raiders on August 20.
Schultz is coming off a strong 2025 regular season, where he achieved a career-high 82 receptions and recorded 777 receiving yards, his best performance since 2021 when he was with the Dallas Cowboys.
With Jayden Higgins sidelined for the entire 2026 season due to a knee injury and Tank Dell starting the season on injured reserve, Schultz and Collins are expected to be key targets for Stroud in the upcoming season.
