Texans linebacker Jake Hummel was placed on injured reserve Saturday after missing practice since suffering a groin injury in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Bills.
Hummel must remain on injured reserve for at least four games before he can be considered for a return to Houston’s active roster. The timing of his return is not yet clear.
Jake Hansen is expected to continue starting at linebacker alongside Azeez Al-Shaair and Aiden Fisher while Hummel is unavailable. CBSSports.com reported the roster move, citing Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
