Houston Texans wide receiver Nico Collins did not practice for the second consecutive session because of a hamstring injury, making his availability for the Week 3 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts uncertain. Houston is scheduled to play Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday, and one practice opportunity remains before the game.
Collins injured his hamstring while preparing for Houston's Week 2 contest against the Cincinnati Bengals. The injury kept him out of that game at NRG Stadium. The 27-year-old previously opened the season with seven catches for 75 yards and a touchdown on 10 targets during the Texans' 36-31 home loss to the Buffalo Bills.
If Collins cannot play against the Colts, Houston could give additional work to wide receivers Jaylin Noel, Xavier Hutchinson and Kayshon Boutte. Tight end Dalton Schultz has produced the most receiving yardage among the group through two games, with 16 receptions for 175 yards.
A Week 3 absence would leave Week 4 as the earliest point Collins could return. The Texans are scheduled to host the Dallas Cowboys in that game, with Dak Prescott listed as Dallas' quarterback in the report.
