Houston Texans right tackle Trent Brown returned to practice Thursday ahead of the team’s Week 3 divisional game against the Indianapolis Colts. Brown had been absent from the previous practice because of wrist and knee issues listed on Houston’s injury report.
The return gives Houston its starting right tackle for practice after Brown opened the team’s first two regular-season games at the position. His availability has not been seriously threatened by a recurring wrist injury earlier in the season, and the report indicates he could remain available for Sunday’s game if his progress continues.
Brown took over the starting role after Braden Smith suffered a foot injury during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve for the first four weeks of the season. Through two games, Brown has allowed eight pressures, been penalized four times and given up one sack, according to the report.
Houston’s other tackles on its 53-man roster are Blake Fisher, a 2024 second-round pick, and Nate Thomas, who joined the team in a trade made on cutdown day. Brown’s return means the Texans are not expected to turn to either player as the starter at right tackle against Indianapolis, provided Brown remains available.
Collins did not practice Thursday, marking his second missed session of the week and fourth consecutive absence since sustaining a hamstring injury. The report does not provide a game status for Collins.
