Wade Woodaz, a linebacker for the Texans, sustained a thumb injury during Thursday night's preseason game against the Raiders, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston.
Despite the injury, Woodaz is currently listed as day-to-day and aims to return to the field with a cast as soon as he can. He made a significant impact in the game prior to his injury, scoring on an 80-yard interception return off quarterback Fernando Mendoza.
As a fourth-round rookie, Woodaz has been gaining momentum heading into the regular season, where he is anticipated to serve as the primary depth option at middle linebacker behind Azeez Al-Shaair. Further details regarding his recovery timeline are not yet clear.
