The Houston Texans will be without wide receiver Jayden Higgins for the entire 2026 season after he suffered a torn ACL during a joint practice with the Las Vegas Raiders. This injury was reported by NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.
Higgins, who was selected as the No. 34 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, had a strong rookie season, recording 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns. His performance improved significantly after Tank Dell's injury late in the 2024 season, which elevated Higgins' role in the Texans' offense.
In 2025, Higgins became a key target for quarterback C.J. Stroud, especially during Houston's nine-game winning streak, where his target share increased notably. He scored four of his six touchdowns in the latter part of the season and achieved his highest yardage totals in Weeks 13 and 17.
With Higgins out for the season and Tank Dell still recovering, the Texans will look to players such as Xavier Hutchinson, Jaylin Noel, and Justin Watson to step up in the passing game. The team's strategy will aim to maintain offensive productivity while hoping for Dell's eventual return to the field.
