Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko confirmed that wide receiver Madden Williams will be out for the rest of the 2026 season because of a lower-body injury sustained during practice, necessitating surgery. Williams was not dressed for the opening game against Missouri State, joining safety Tawfiq Byard on the sidelines.
His injury marks the third wide receiver loss for the Aggies before the season began.
Earlier in fall camp, Jonah Wilson was removed from the team after transferring from Houston just a year prior. Additionally, Jerome Myles, a former five-star recruit, was announced to be leaving the program due to personal reasons, having missed the entire 2025 season due to injury.
With Williams unavailable, Texas A&M will depend on its main wide receivers: Mario Craver, Isaiah Horton, and Ashton Bethel-Roman. This situation allows other players on the roster to step up. True freshman Aaron Gregory made a notable contribution in the opener, catching a 15-yard touchdown pass and finishing with two receptions totaling 22 yards.
Kelshaun Johnson recorded three catches for 25 yards, while TK Norman did not register any receptions. The team plans to finalize its wide receiver depth chart in the next two games before their matchup against LSU in Baton Rouge.
