Eovaldi’s Strikeout Display

Nathan Eovaldi anchored the Texas Rangers’ victory with a sharp five-inning performance that featured nine strikeouts against just one walk. The right-hander allowed three earned runs on six hits, securing his ninth win of the season and improving his record to 9-7.

He was supported by a bullpen that maintained the lead through the final innings, with Tyler Alexander, Peyton Gray, and Robby Ahlstrom each recording a hold.

Scoring Surge in the Second

The Rangers broke through in the second inning to take control. Díaz opened the scoring with a home run to left center, measuring 414 feet. The inning continued with a run-scoring walk for Jung, followed by a sacrifice fly from Duran that brought Lopez home.

Detroit managed a single run in the fourth inning when Lopez scored on a double by Jung, but the Rangers answered immediately with a run on a Duran single.

Tigers Fight Back

Detroit’s offense found some life in the fifth inning. Keith hit a home run to right center, narrowing the gap. Later in the frame, Lee drove in McKinstry with a home run to left center, giving the Tigers a 5-3 lead.

Rangers Pull Away

The Rangers regained momentum in the seventh inning. Osuna singled to left, bringing Carter home, followed by a Lopez single that scored Díaz. Smith reached on an infield single to shortstop, driving in Osuna to make it 9-3.

Malgeri added a run in the eighth with a single to center, and Carter capped the scoring with a home run to center field. The final score stood at 10-4. The Rangers improved to 45-43, while the Tigers fell to 38-50.
