The Rangers' bullpen maintained the shutout with three scoreless innings of relief. Jakob Junis pitched the seventh, recording two walks without allowing a hit or run, earning his sixteenth hold. Chase Silseth followed in the eighth, striking out two batters and walking none in his inning, adding to his twelfth hold.
Jacob Latz closed the game in the ninth, fanning three batters while issuing one walk to earn his twenty-fifth save.
Washington Struggles on Mound
Washington’s starting pitcher Andrew Alvarez faced a difficult night, taking the loss after five innings of work. Alvarez allowed four hits and one earned run while striking out five and walking three. His record dropped to 2-5.
