McKinney, Texas — Forward Marcus Spears Jr. has signed with Texas for the 2026-27 season after reclassifying from the 2027 class, the university announced July 10.
Texas identified Spears as the top player in the 2027 rankings before his class change. ESPN now places him No. 4 in the 2026 class.
Spears is a 6-foot-10 Frisco native who averaged 15.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.4 blocks during his junior year at Dynamic Prep, Texas said.
He will enroll at Texas for next season. The Longhorns have a statewide fan base that includes McKinney and the surrounding North Texas region.
