Turning the Tide Early
Texas Tech opened the scoring in the first period with a one-yard touchdown run by Cameron Dickey, converting the extra point to take a 7-0 lead. The Red Raiders’ defense then shifted the game’s dynamic in the second quarter. Safety Austin Romaine returned an interception 15 yards for a touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0.
Moments later, Romaine struck again, returning another pass 31 yards for a score, pushing the margin to 21-0.
