McKinney, Texas — The FIFA World Cup's Arlington residency reaches its crescendo starting Friday, when AT&T Stadium hosts the final day of Round of 32 play followed by a Portugal-Spain Round of 16 and a tournament semifinal.

Friday's 1 p.m. kickoff — Australia versus Egypt — marks the last Round of 32 fixture before the bracket narrows. Portugal and Spain then take the pitch July 6 at 2 p.m. in a Round of 16 tie that stands among the most-watched matches of the knockout phase.

On July 14 at 2 p.m., the stadium will host a semifinal — the deepest World Cup round ever contested in North Texas. Across the tournament, AT&T Stadium has staged nine matches, the highest count of any single venue in the 2026 competition.

The overlap with Independence Day weekend has amplified the regional footprint, with visitors streaming into McKinney and surrounding Collin County communities. Hotels, retail centers and restaurants along the U.S. 75 corridor are seeing the ripple effect of a tournament that has placed DFW at the center of the global soccer map.
