Spain Moves On From North Texas World Cup Semifinal

**McKinney, Texas** — Spain booked its place in the 2026 World Cup final by defeating France 2-0 on July 14 at Dallas Stadium in Arlington.

Mikel Oyarzabal gave Spain the lead from the spot in the 22nd minute. Pedro Porro supplied the other goal in the 58th minute, FIFA reported.

FIFA's match data lists 10 attempts for France and 10 for Spain. France had three shots on target, compared with two for Spain.

Reuters said Spain advances to Sunday's championship match and will learn its opponent after England plays Argentina. Arlington hosted the semifinal as part of the Dallas-area World Cup schedule.
