Downtown McKinney has three very different ways to spend Sunday, Oct. 11, ranging from free to a $100 sponsor ticket, according to listings from Visit McKinney, the city's tourism office.
Masquerade for the Arts
Texas Youth Ballet is holding Masquerade for the Arts from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Church Street Auditorium, 306 N. Church St. Guests are asked to come in masks and their best outfits for a short dance performance, refreshments, line dancing, a small silent auction, a raffle and prizes. Children are welcome in Halloween costumes.
Tickets are $40, or $100 for a sponsor ticket. Money raised goes to the group's nonprofit ballet programs, the listing says.
Movie on the lawn
At the same hour, Tupps Brewery is showing Hocus Pocus on its concert lawn at 402 E. Louisiana St. from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free. The listing invites families to bring chairs, blankets or an inflatable couch and says dogs are welcome.
Last day for Rooted & Revealed
The free Rooted & Revealed exhibition at The Cove, 402 N. Tennessee St., ends its three-day run Sunday with hours from 2 to 5 p.m. The show pairs impressionist painters Maria Hampton, Linda Herbert and Marly Lindsey with jewelry artist Joy Jones, and the listing describes its themes as nature, relationships, memories and faith.
Visitors can meet the artists, and the event includes live music and light hors d'oeuvres.
