The Stix Icehouse in McKinney will host a limited-time, State Fair of Texas-inspired event running from Sept. 25 through Oct. 18. The dates align precisely with the opening of the 2026 State Fair of Texas, which begins on Sept. 25.

This year’s menu features oversized, fried items typically associated with fairgrounds. Offerings include a Footlong corny dog served with queso and barbecue sauce alongside crinkle fries, and a Mac Stack Burger that incorporates a fried mac and cheese ball. Other food selections consist of Hot Cheeto elote, Frito pie, deep-fried Oreos, and funnel cake fries topped with chocolate and caramel.

Beverage options include a Texas Cherry Limeade prepared with Tito’s Vodka, a Cotton Candy Margarita, and a nonalcoholic Cotton Candy Lemonade. The venue sits on 14 acres and provides outdoor amenities such as sports fields, walking trails, disc golf, cornhole, swings, and a treehouse.

The event concludes on Oct. 18 with the fifth annual Good Ol' Days Fest. This free gathering runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and features pony rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin activities, a vendor market, traditional field day games, and a charity dunk tank.

Rae Phillips Luther of The Stix Icehouse stated that the organization aims to build community connections and create memories for families during the fall season. She noted that the venue is adapting the state fair experience for local patrons while simultaneously celebrating its fifth anniversary with complimentary activities.

A similar monthlong pop-up called The Big Texperience was held at the location in 2025. The current fair-inspired celebration takes place at 301 Eldorado Parkway #100 in McKinney. Additional details regarding the event schedule are available through the venue’s official calendar.
