Leaders from Catholic Charities Dallas, the city of McKinney, and several nonprofit organizations officially broke ground on Aug. 4 for NeighborHUB, a new collaborative center located in McKinney. The 40,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to open in late 2027 and will house healthcare, legal aid, education, and other nonprofit services under one roof.
The project aims to address the challenges of rapid population growth in Collin County, which ranks among the fastest-growing in the nation. According to Catholic Charities Dallas, approximately one in five families in the region lives in poverty, and one in six Texas children experiences food insecurity.
The center seeks to consolidate resources that are currently spread across multiple agencies, making them difficult for residents to navigate.
NeighborHUB will serve as a shared home for organizations including Catholic Charities Dallas, One Heart McKinney, St. Vincent de Paul, Streetside Showers, and Neighbors Nourishing Neighbors. Support partners such as Mission Regan, Grace Presbytery, Medbridge, Sanchez Charities, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will also strengthen referral networks within the facility.
The design includes shared conference rooms, coworking areas, and a centralized reception managed by One Heart McKinney. This structure allows families to access multiple services during a single visit rather than coordinating appointments across different locations. Participating nonprofits will lease office space at below-market rates without making an upfront capital investment, with rental income helping to cover operating expenses and long-term maintenance.
Catholic Charities Dallas plans to offer six core programs, including Adult and Early Childhood Education, a Community Health Clinic, and Immigration Legal Services. The center is expected to serve more than 12,000 unique residents during its first year, with projections indicating that number could grow to nearly 29,000 annually by the fifth year.
