The 2026 North Texas Giving Day campaign collected more than $76 million from 94,700 donors by midnight Sept. 17, with gifts supporting nonprofits across the region. Dallas is about 31 miles south of McKinney. The Communities Foundation of Texas organized the event, which was held for the 18th time.
More than 3,300 organizations received donations across 25 cause areas, including education, health, social services, arts, environmental work and animal welfare. The initial 2026 figure was above the $74.2 million given by 94,000 donors at the comparable point in 2025. That earlier campaign ultimately totaled $78 million after gifts were processed through Sept. 30.
Since the event launched in 2009, donors have contributed $788 million to North Texas nonprofits. Dallas issued a proclamation naming Sept. 17, 2026, North Texas Giving Day.
Amazon, the presenting sponsor, added donations for 15 participating nonprofits. The Communities Foundation of Texas and event sponsors covered transaction and technology fees for gifts made on NorthTexasGivingDay.org, so the entire tax-deductible contribution could go to the selected nonprofit. The platform operates year-round for cause campaigns, matching fundraisers, corporate group gifts and nonprofit-led fundraising.
The next event is set for Sept. 16, 2027. Local Profile reported the totals and event information.
