Universal Destinations & Experiences has officially opened Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, marking the company's debut as a regional theme park operator. The facility is designed specifically for children between the ages of three and eight.

Page Thompson, president of New Ventures for Universal Destinations & Experiences, described the opening as an exciting milestone for young fans, noting that the park's design prioritizes the enjoyment of its young visitors.

The resort features seven distinct themed zones that showcase characters and stories from various entertainment franchises. These areas include DreamWorks’ Shrek’s Swamp, Jurassic World Adventure Camp, and Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants Bikini Bottom. Additional zones highlight Illumination’s Minions in Minions vs. Minions: Bello Bay Club, DreamWorks’ TrollsFest, and Puss in Boots Del Mar. The Isle of Curiosity area features content from Gabby’s Dollhouse.

Accommodations are available on-site through a 300-room hotel located at the park entrance. Each room can accommodate up to six guests. The property offers family-oriented amenities and dining venues intended to appeal to a wide range of tastes. Frisco is situated approximately 12 miles west of McKinney.

Admission pricing varies based on the duration of the visit. A one-day general admission ticket costs $54.99, while a two-day pass is priced at $73.99. Guests can also purchase packages that include a Coca-Cola Freestyle souvenir cup; the one-day option with the cup is $69.99, and the two-day version is $101.99.

Special experiences are available for an additional fee. The Troll-ify Me! Experience allows guests to transform into characters from the Trolls movies for $25 per person. For those seeking a premium visit, a Private VIP Experience is offered at $999.99 per person. This four-hour guided tour provides priority access to attractions and entertainment along with exclusive benefits.

Molly Murphy, president of Universal Creative, stated that the park aims to introduce a younger demographic to the brand’s entertainment. She emphasized that the goal was to create a space where children can interact with favorite characters and build memories with their families.
