Marketing campaigns earn multiple national and industry awards

The city’s communications team received several honors for social media strategies and video content.

The City of McKinney has announced that its marketing and communications efforts have received multiple awards from various national and industry organizations. The recognitions span categories including food and beverage, arts and entertainment, recruitment, and travel and tourism.

In the food and beverage sector, the city’s New Development - Union Bear campaign earned a Silver Award in the General category from the Telly Awards. The arts and entertainment division also received a Silver Award for Thrilling October Events in McKinney. Additionally, the McKinney Melons - Lose Yourself recruitment campaign secured a Bronze Award in the General category.

The Shop Small in Downtown McKinney initiative was recognized with a Bronze Award in the General Travel and Tourism category.

The city’s social media presence also garnered significant attention. The Government Social Media Association presented a Golden Post Award for Best Video Strategy. The City-County Communications and Marketing Association awarded a Savvy Award for Best Use of Social Media, Single Post, specifically for the Outdoor Warning Sirens Video. The same association recognized the One-Time Special Programming for Shopping Small in McKinney is Timeless.

The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors granted an Award of Distinction in two categories. The Social Media, Long Form category recognized the Shopping Small in McKinney is Timeless video, which is over 60 seconds in length. The Social Media, Collaboration category honored the New Development - Union Bear campaign.

Finally, the organization awarded an Award of Honor for the Social Media Campaign or Series titled Roadstock.

These awards highlight the city’s recent focus on digital engagement and promotional content across various community sectors.
