Erwin Park is undergoing a major renovation that will transform one of McKinney's most popular parks with new amenities, improved accessibility and upgraded facilities. To allow construction to proceed safely and efficiently, the park will close Aug. 10.

When the project is complete, visitors will enjoy an overlook tower, new restrooms, pavilions, updated playground equipment, ADA accessibility improvements, a new concrete inner-loop trail, resurfaced roads and parking lots, and water and electrical service at campsites.

The park is expected to reopen in fall 2027, barring unforeseen construction delays. Project updates will be posted at McKinneyParks.org/Projects.

The city noted that the park is one of McKinney's most popular locations. Officials expressed appreciation for the community's patience as these improvements are made.
