The City of McKinney has published the official operating hours for the Apex Centre, providing residents with a detailed schedule for facility access, recreational activities, and pool usage. The announcement outlines specific daily hours for the main facility, playroom, gymnasium, indoor dry sauna, and both summer and indoor pools.
The Apex Centre facility is open Monday through Thursday from 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The playroom operates Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The playroom is closed on Sundays.
Gymnasium hours for free shooting and pickup games vary by day, generally opening at 4:30 a.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. on Saturdays. Open volleyball play is available only on Mondays from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on the east side of the gymnasium.
The indoor dry sauna is open Monday through Thursday from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
For the 2026 summer season, the outdoor pool will be open daily to the public from May 23 to August 11. It will operate on weekends only from August 15 to September 6, and will be open on Labor Day, September 7. The schedule distinguishes between exercise-only times for lap swimming and water walking, and open swim times when families are welcome.
The indoor leisure pool and competition lap lane pool also have designated exercise-only and open swim hours, with the indoor leisure pool open Monday through Friday from 4:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The city notes that all hours are subject to change based on holiday schedules, recreation programs, and camps. Residents are advised to view holiday hours and read policies and rules before arriving.
